Lock, Stock, and History

On this day in history, November 25th, 1758

British forces and colonial militia capture Fort Duquesne from the French.  For years the French fort, located in what is now Pittsburgh, held of against many British assaults.  On November 24th the French abandoned and destroyed the fort, leaving the site to be captured by British forces the next day.  The British then built a larger fort, Ft. Pitt, on the site.
